CashCows ("the extension") is a browser extension that estimates Section 8 rental cashflow for property listings on Zillow.com. This page explains what data the extension accesses and what, if anything, it sends elsewhere.
While you browse Zillow.com, the extension reads listing information already visible on the page — price, bedrooms, ZIP code, tax history, and Zillow's own rent estimate. This happens entirely in your browser. Nothing about your browsing activity, identity, or Zillow account is collected.
The extension sends a ZIP code and a bedroom count to a hosted database (Supabase) to look up the applicable HUD Section 8 payment standard for that area. That is the only data transmitted off your device. It does not include your name, your Zillow account, or any other identifying information — just a ZIP code and a number of bedrooms, the minimum needed to look up a public HUD figure.
Payment-standard lookups are cached in your browser's local extension storage for up to 30 days, so repeat lookups for the same ZIP/bedroom combination don't need a new network request. This cache stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Payment standard figures come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) public Fair Market Rent / Small Area Fair Market Rent datasets. All financial estimates shown are estimates only — verify comps, taxes, and property condition before making any offer. This is not financial advice.
